Divination is a sacred and ancient tradition practiced worldwide. Divination is simply the attempt to gain knowledge and insight into a question or situation where the answer is not clear. It is traditional for many ancient peoples, and has been around for thousands of years.
Part of the Wiccan tradition includes reading Tarot cards and other forms of chartomancy (divination from things on paper). When someone is concerned or bothered by an issue, it is because the energy around that issue is in chaos. It's like trying to focus on one bee while thousands buzz about.
By focusing on the question or matter, a skilled Tarot Card reader can organize that apparently random energy and clearly see the answer to the issue that is being clouded.
Card reading, whether the cards are Tarot, Medicine or feature images of alien contact, is a tradition that goes back many lifetimes, and is a well-known form of divination.
I have used many types of divination tools in my life. From Tarot cards to coins, from Runes to tea leaves, each method can be right for just the right person. For me to connect deeply with the cards and the issue at hand, I have chosen Medicine cards, with images of animals, as my interpretive tool.
Medicine cards were created in 1999 by Jamie Sans, and David Carson to represent an animal-based energy that I personally find a stronger connection to than images such as "Three of Wands" and "Tower". Tarot cards are excellent for many, but I have never been in a tower, nor seen a Queen of cups. I have, however, seen hawks and dogs, squirrels and foxes - and I believe I can provide more accurate readings when looking at more familiar things.
My choice for using Medicine Cards grounds me, allowing me to clear away the clutter and organize the energy around each question I ask. The resulting messages are clearer, and more personal.
